Use this when
Use this guide when a workflow asks you to use ngram in Claude and the connection is missing. Once connected, you can ask Claude to prepare a video from your source, review the plan and retrieve the result.
Before you start
Have an ngram account ready. Sign in through the connector with the account whose projects and credits you want to use. Creating a video uses that account’s credits and available settings; review the proposed settings before confirming creation. The connection check below only reads your account.
Your Claude account must allow custom connectors. In a managed organization, an authorized owner may need to add ngram before you can connect your own account.
Connect ngram
- Open Claude on the web. Go to Customize → Connectors.
- Select + Add and choose Add custom connector. If your organization has already added ngram, select its Connect action instead.
- Enter ngram in Name and https://mcp.ngram.com/claude in MCP server URL. Select Continue.
- Keep sign-in authentication enabled and review the detected authentication settings. Continue through the connector setup and sign in to ngram when prompted.
- Review the requested access and finish connecting. In a new conversation, open + → Connectors and enable ngram.
- Ask: “Use ngram to check which account is connected and show my available credits. Do not create a video.”
For organization permissions and the current Claude controls, see Claude’s custom connector guide
What you should see
ngram is available in the conversation, and the read-only request returns information for the ngram account you intended to connect. Check the account before supplying your source material. If Claude only describes how to check, ask it to use the connected ngram tool.
Resume your video workflow
Return to the workflow prompt and replace its source, audience and focus with your own details. Ask Claude to prepare the video and show the settings. Confirm creation with plan review enabled. When ngram returns the plan, request any changes and approve it before production continues. Ask for the status of that same video and open the returned result when it is ready.
If the connection does not work
- If ngram is not available in the chat, enable it for that conversation. Ask your organization owner for access if custom connectors are restricted.
- If sign-in fails, check the server address and intended ngram account, then retry the connection from Claude’s connector settings. Keep passwords and API keys out of the chat.
- If a video is already running, ask for its status before submitting the creation request again. A delayed response does not mean a new request is needed.
