Choose Adobe Express when video belongs alongside the graphics, presentations and brand assets for a campaign. Choose CapCut when its social templates, effects and phone or desktop editing process fit your clips. Both have generative video tools, so compare how you start and revise the work instead of assuming one only designs and the other only cuts footage.

The campaign workspace and the video edit

Adobe Express brings video into a wider design workflow. A marketing team can create a cover image, presentation, promotional video and resized social assets with shared visual resources. Its templates, stock library and brand tools are useful when consistency across those outputs matters.

Adobe Express homepage illustrating its design and creative tools

CapCut’s online editor and desktop/mobile apps offer another starting point: existing footage, creator templates, captions and effects. Evaluate the app your team will actually use, because features and subscription options can vary by platform and region.

The practical test is a revision you make every week. Replace an outdated product screen, shorten a spoken section or prepare a vertical cut. Check the editing controls, how much work is preserved and whether the result can be delivered with the assets and plan you selected.

Both products create with AI

Adobe’s video-generation guide documents a text prompt with an optional starting image, camera controls and a generated video that can be placed in the design. Its separate Animate Characters tool syncs a chosen character to recorded or uploaded audio. Generation and editing are both part of the Express workflow.

CapCut’s AI video tools cover scripts and generated scenes, and its storyboard tool helps plan the sequence. An older description that says CapCut cannot help plan a video no longer reflects its documented product.

For business content, inspect the facts and visual evidence in the draft. Can the tool use the material you have? Can you correct the message, change a scene and retain the intended call to action? AI availability alone does not answer those questions.

Brand assets, captions and collaboration

Adobe Express Premium includes Brand Kits and a content scheduler, with business offerings adding organization controls. It suits teams that want a video beside the rest of a campaign’s designs. CapCut also documents brand and team workflows; inspect the selected offering rather than assuming that creator-oriented editing excludes collaboration.

Both provide caption tools. Check names, terminology, line breaks and readability with your source footage. Caption translation and spoken-voice translation are separate tasks, and their availability can depend on the chosen tool and plan.

In ngram, set up your Brand Kit and select it in the composer for the video you are creating. Turn captions on when wanted. You approve the plan containing the script before generating, then request changes or use the timeline.

Current pricing and usage

The US individual Adobe Express pricing page showed Premium at $9.99/month with no annual commitment and 250 monthly generative credits on October 17, 2026. Firefly Pro was $19.99/month, including Express Premium and a larger 4,000-credit allowance for its broader AI tools. These are different bundles; do not treat either balance as an interchangeable number of finished videos.

CapCut’s pricing guidance points users to the current regional and platform-specific checkout. Check the selected plan, included AI allowance and renewal amount. An older Standard or Pro price in a blog is not a reliable quote for every device and account.

ReferenceMonthly billingWhat to compare
Adobe Express Premium$9.99 in the checked US individual viewDesign/video features and 250 generative credits
Firefly Pro bundle$19.99 in the checked US individual viewExpress Premium plus broader AI tools and 4,000 credits
CapCut paid planCheck regional/platform checkoutFeatures, AI allowance and renewal price
ngram Basic$293,000 credits per monthly cycle

ngram pricing includes 1,000 credits/month on Free. Basic costs $29/month with monthly billing and includes 3,000 credits per cycle; annual billing is $23.20/month equivalent with 36,000 credits supplied upfront. The base rate for premium AI video generation is 10 credits per second, with a cheaper model at 3. Share publicly or embed on Free; use a paid plan for MP4 downloads and Basic or above for unlisted links.

Choose around the recurring job. A broader design subscription, a video-editing plan and a source-to-video generation allowance cover different work. Compare the number of creators, required AI tools and delivery settings before deciding on price.

Turn a release page into a product announcement

The ngram example below uses the public Linear Diffs release page and a filled brief. Inspect the source, style, transcript and actual output, then adapt the brief for your own update. This is URL-based creation, not an imported Adobe Express or CapCut project.

From this input to this video

An announcement using Linear’s October 8 release and actual product imagery to show the workflow.

Prompt

Create a 30-second feature announcement video for Linear, a product development platform for engineering teams reviewing stacked code changes. Use this release source: https://linear.app/changelog/2026-10-08-stacked-pull-requests. The new feature is stacked pull requests in Linear Diffs: the October 8, 2026 release shows every pull request in a stack with its review, CI and merge status. Open on the problem users had before: following the status of related pull requests across a stack. Show how stacked pull requests in Linear Diffs solves it — use motion graphics over the real product UI or a provided URL screenshot; do not invent fake screens. Tone: clear and practical. End on the product logo with the line Explore stacked pull requests in Linear Diffs. Channel: LinkedIn in landscape 16:9. Voiceover language: English; if no voiceover, use on-screen captions and light background music.

Read the video transcript

Stacked pull requests keep big changes small. But following a stack meant jumping between pull requests, checking each review, each CI run and each merge on its own. Now Linear Diffs shows the whole stack in one place. See where you are, move through every pull request, and read review, CI and merge status at a glance. Related PRs are grouped into a single row in Reviews, with their issue and project context. Explore stacked pull requests in Linear Diffs.

Video generation uses credits. Review your estimate in ngram. MP4 downloads require Basic or higher.

How credits work

For existing footage, export the relevant video from Adobe Express or CapCut and upload the file to ngram. Add the audience, key points and next step. Keep the editable original in its source app; the exported file supplies footage for the new video.

Choose a style, aspect ratio and duration. In the composer, select your configured Brand Kit and enable captions when wanted, then approve the plan containing the script. Ask for revisions after reviewing the result. When the source changes, tell ngram what changed and ask it to update the video.

Where each workflow fits

For a campaign with many designed assets, start with Adobe Express. For hands-on social clips and the effects or templates your creators use, evaluate CapCut. For recurring product explanations from source material, try ngram’s real announcement brief and compare the result with your needs.

How this comparison was reviewed

This update compares current official product, support, pricing and developer sources. Recommendations concern the job, source material and revision workflow. We have not run a timed or scored competitor-output test. The ngram example shows an actual generated result with the exact input; it is not a comparative quality benchmark.
