A support team has finished a tutorial on inviting a teammate. The public help article needs a video customers can replay; the internal escalation guide includes private account details and needs to stay elsewhere. Decide which version belongs on YouTube before opening the composer.
Make the title answer a task
Use the action the customer came to learn: “Invite a teammate and choose their role.” A vague title such as “April product update” is harder to find later. Put the prerequisite in the description: an account admin must be able to invite members. A help center video is easier to maintain when the article still holds the exact steps and exceptions.
Choose the channel and visibility
Open Share on the finished video, then select YouTube under Social. Connect the intended account or choose the existing connection. Check the channel name and attached cut before typing the title and description. The YouTube integration also supports scheduling when the tutorial must wait for a release.
Use public visibility for a tutorial meant for general discovery. Unlisted is appropriate when anyone with the link may watch, including someone who receives it secondhand. For restricted training, check YouTube’s private access controls or choose your team’s approved learning platform. An unlisted URL is not access control.
Verify the learner experience
Publish or choose a scheduled time. Once the video is available on YouTube, open the destination itself. Play the first instruction and the final step, check the title and channel, and confirm that someone in the intended audience can open it. Only then add that URL to the article or course.
If the video is missing, check the connected account and posting status before retrying. If the video opens only for the uploader, inspect visibility before sharing it more widely. Use the ngram sharing guide when you want an ngram-hosted link instead of publishing a separate YouTube copy.
You just read it. Now watch it.
ngram turns this post into a short explainer video: scenes, voiceover, and motion graphics included.
