Here Come the Cats — A Shin Megami Tensei IV fan video | made with ngram

About the video

This video was created by ngram to retell a pivotal story arc from the video game Shin Megami Tensei IV through a fan-made narrative built entirely in an HTML/CSS motion graphics style. The video opens with a title and credit sequence before introducing the two central characters, Flynn and Jonathan, shown first in profile and then wielding his sword, establishing their roles in the story. The scenes move to Jonathan positioned beneath Merkabah and viewed from behind, signaling his allegiance and the weight of the forces surrounding him. A flashback sequence provides context for the characters' history before the two are shown standing apart, visually marking a growing divide between them. Close focus on Flynn's eyes and then Jonathan's golden eyes draws attention to the emotional and thematic stakes of the moment. The story builds to its turning point in a scene titled 'The choice: Refuse,' depicting a defining decision, before closing on the scene 'Here come the cats,' which serves as the video's concluding beat. Throughout, ngram used the HTML/CSS motion graphics style to render each scene with clean, stylized visuals suited to a 16:9 format, translating a game narrative into a compact fan-made video experience for viewers familiar with the Shin Megami Tensei IV story.
