[Open Projects](https://www.ngram.com/app/projects) [All docs](https://www.ngram.com/docs) ## Read before this Read these direct prerequisites in order. Each guide lists any earlier context it assumes. 1. [1 Projects and Tool results Find, filter, reopen, rename, and delete saved work.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/managing-projects) 2. [2 Revise a generated video Give useful feedback with examples, chat, frame targeting, and direct editing.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/revising-a-video) A rendered output and a saved conversation checkpoint are different. Preview or download an earlier render without changing the project. Use Saved versions to restore a checkpoint or fork it when you want another direction. ## Before changing saved work Open the project from Projects and confirm that you own the conversation you intend to change. Wait for active work to finish. Keep its URL and use a separate name for any fork so you can find both directions later. ## Preview an earlier render 1. Open the conversation containing the video. 2. Open Versions when more than one rendered output is available. 3. Select an output and play it. 4. Choose Download on a paid plan if you want a file of that output. Selecting it does not restore the editable project. To continue from an earlier checkpoint, open Saved versions in a conversation you own. Restore a checkpoint to make it the active project state, or fork one to keep a separate path. Eligible message actions also offer undo or redo. Confirm the active version before requesting another generation, which can use credits. ## Restore or fork a saved version 1. Open your conversation from Projects and wait for any active work to finish. 2. Open Saved versions and choose the checkpoint you want. 3. Choose Restore to continue from that checkpoint, or Fork to create a separate direction. 4. Check the active conversation and replay the result before sending another revision. ## Undo or redo a conversation turn Eligible messages offer undo or redo actions. Read the action and confirm the intended checkpoint before continuing. Use Fork from Saved versions when you want a separate direction, and check which conversation is active before requesting another generation. ## Continue older or separately saved work Open the intended project from Projects before making a change. If you imported or separately saved an older project, check its name and preview; do not assume edits to another conversation automatically appear in it. ## If an earlier result is missing Confirm you opened the original conversation and that it has more than one generated output. Keep the conversation link when contacting Support so they can identify the work. ## Contact Support when work is missing Stop undoing, forking, or regenerating when an expected render or checkpoint is missing. Keep every related project and send Support the original project URL, approximate time, last visible version or error, and names of any separately saved projects. Recovery is not guaranteed. ## Versions and copies FAQ ### Can I restore an earlier project state? Yes. In a conversation you own, open Saved versions and choose Restore on an eligible checkpoint. This differs from Versions, which previews or downloads rendered outputs without restoring the editable project. ### Why can’t I see an earlier rendered output? Confirm that you opened the intended conversation and that it has more than one completed output. Check Versions for renders and Saved versions for project checkpoints. Contact Support if an expected result is still missing. ### How do I download an older render without changing current work? Open Versions, select the earlier output, and preview it before downloading on a paid plan. Selecting or downloading it does not restore a project checkpoint. ### How do I keep two creative directions? Open Saved versions and choose Fork on the checkpoint you want to explore. Check the newly opened conversation before revising it, and name the projects so the original and fork are easy to distinguish. ### What should I check after restoring or forking? Confirm the active conversation, plan, and preview before requesting more work. A new generation or revision can use credits. Keep the project URL if the state does not match the checkpoint you selected. ## Keep going [Manage projects, conversations, and Tool results Find, reopen, filter, rename, and delete work in the current Projects experience.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/managing-projects) [Revise a generated video Request a targeted change in chat or use Make changes on the preview.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/revising-a-video) [Use the full video editor Open the current editor for direct timeline and layer adjustments.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/full-editor) [Fix a prompt that missed the brief Diagnose a weak result and improve the prompt, sources, storyboard, or targeted revision.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/fix-a-prompt) [Use Help and contact Support Choose the right help channel and include useful, privacy-safe diagnostic details.](https://www.ngram.com/docs/help-and-support) ## Continue in ngram Open the relevant Studio surface and follow the current controls shown in your account.
